Thompson Hughes (American, b. 1942) Grove of Trees, 1978 Oil on canvas 20" x 24" A plein air landscape from the Alexander township (now defunct) in western-central Kansas, signed and dated to the bottom right, and titled to the reverse. Presented in a gray-painted wooden float frame measuring 21 1/2" x 25 1/4". Provenance: From the corporate art collection of a Kansas City based Fortune 500 company, previously acquired from the Johnson-Welsh Gallery in Kansas City, MO.
Good condition, with no in-painting, over-painting, or other repairs visible under blacklight inspection. There is a small and slight depression to the canvas in the upper right quadrant, but no puncture or tear.
