A handsome half-length portrait of an English gentleman in typical Georgian dress, oil on canvas, circa 1775-1800. Unsigned, measuring 23" x 20". Nicely presented in a deep antique gilt frame, measuring 31" x 28" x 3 1/2".
Provenance: The estate of a Mission Hills collector. 100% of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to charity.
Good condition, noting some overall craquelure, scattered touch-ups to the background, and one loss to the paint layer in the rolled curl of the subject's wig. There are a few small losses to the frame.
