A very finely painted half-length oil portrait on canvas of a woman, seated in a channel-tufted chair, dressed in typical Victorian fashion: a blue bonnet and black dress with lace collar and mourning portrait pendant. Inscribed "March 1863" to the top stretcher bar.
Provenance: The estate of a Mission Hills collector. 100% of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to charity.
Condition
A small amount of in-painted touchups to scattered areas of the background, and a slight amount of in-painting to the woman's cheek.
