A good half-length portrait of a woman in a dark green puff-sleeve dress, her hand resting on the arm of a chair to prominently display her wedding band. Oil on canvas, 19th century, English or American. Measures 34" x 26". Presented in a gilt frame that measures 40" x 32".

Typical overall craquelure. Inspection under blacklight reveals some over-painting in the hair and dress areas and a minor amount of scattered in-painting in the background. The canvas has been relined.
