An English mahogany bureau or secretary desk from the Georgian period, having a slant-front desk over four drawers, all atop ogee feet. The front opens to reveal four compartments and two drawers on each side of a central cabinet. Each of the two pilasters directly flanking the center cabinet pull out to reveal hidden letter storage. Brass bail pulls and keyholes to each of the drawers.
Measures 42 1/2" x 43 1/2" x 21".

Condition
The top drawer is locked shut, and the key supplied is only ornamental. There is an overall worn patina including scuffs and discoloration. The right front edge has a wood split to the right of the desk support slide. The left desk support slide has a loss to the wood that does not affect its functionality.
