A Victorian era whiteby jet carved mourning locket necklace. whiteby jet is a fossilized blackened wood that was and is incredibly light weight. The locket has a carved flower on the front and is intricately carved inside with swirls and leaves. The locket hinge and bale is imbedded wire. The chain is also made of interlocking carved whiteby jet links. The chain has been broken in multiple places is in several segments and is held together by old thread in other areas.
Weight: 22.4 grams.
Measurements: The locket measures 1.25 " x 1". The chain sections add up to 35" long and are approximately 3/8" wide.

The locket is in good condition considering its age. The chain is damaged in multiple places as noted but there are multiple links that are still in good condition.
