Three-quarters bound in red Morocco leather over silken boards, with marbled end papers and gilt top edge. Gilt spines with raised bands. Octavo (8 1/2" x 5 3/4"). The first volume is hand-signed by the author below the frontispiece portrait, and signed "Charles Scribner's Sons" on the colophon page. Each volume numbered "159" in pen, from an autographed edition of 504.
Condition
Fine condition, noting a bit of color fading to the spines from light exposure. Very mild wear. The set is missing Volume VI (
The Blue Flower) and Volume XVIII (
The Golden Key).
