A coastal seascape of waves breaking on the peninsular port town of Skagen, Denmark. Signed and inscribed/titled ("Skagen") to the bottom right. To the reverse of the frame is a 2001 auction tag from Nellemann & Thomsen Auktionshus (Aarhus, Denmark). Presented in a gilt frame that measures 36" x 46".
There is an old repaired tear (left of center along the bottom edge), with in-painting to the paint layer and a canvas patch to the reverse. Some overall soiling. The frame has some losses to the gilt finish.
