A beautifully modeled Nottingham (England) stoneware long-eared owl, perched on a plinth, allover brown salt glaze. A rare and exceptional form, we've found just one other of this type come to auction previously.
Measures 9 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 5".
Provenance: The estate of a Mission Hills collector. 100% of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to charity.
Very good condition considering the age, noting three tiny chips or abrasions: two to one back corner of the plinth, and one to the backside of an ear.
