A Navajo blanket, woven from hand-spun wool. The design incorporates a central black/ dark brown cattle brand (ranch unidentified) over a gray field, with a geometric border of light brown, white, black/ dark brown, and red. Measures 28" x 48".
Provenance: From a private collection, one of three Navajo blankets purchased by the present owner's parents on their 1940 honeymoon.
Condition
There are a few small holes to the border at one end. The selvedges are fairly rough, as photographed.
