An early 18th c. French two-piece oak cupboard, having a top two-door cabinet fitted atop a lower cabinet of two drawers and two doors. Each cabinet has a removable plank shelf inside. Mortise-and-tenon construction. The top cabinet door has its original lock, in working condition, with a key. The lock for the bottom cabinet is present but removed.
Measures 74" x 51" x 21" (the top cabinet measures 33" x 51" x 21", and the bottom cabinet measures 41" x 51" x 21").
Provenance: Consigned as part of the Webster House collection.
Condition
Very good condition considering the age of the piece. All doors and drawers operate smoothly. There is a piece of the top cornice on the right side that has broken off and been re-pinned. Inconsequential nicks, areas of wood worm, and beautifully aged patina commensurate with age.
