A 19th century ebonized tantalus with inlays of brass, mahogany, and abalone shell, likely French in origin. Removable tray with four original hand-cut and etched glass decanters and a full complement of 16 cordial glasses. Measures 10" x 12 3/4" x 9 1/2".
Condition
The case's four small bun feet are all broken off but present. Two of the case's brass string inlays have come loose at one end, but could be tooled back flat and refastened. The interior of the case's lid is scratched from the decanters' stoppers. One of the decanters has a chip along the rim. The cordial glasses are unmatched, with most being replacements, and two chipped or cracked.
