An 1882 Illinois Watch Co. pocket watch in an 18k yellow gold etched hunting case. Comes with a watch fob and lambskin pouch. The front of the case has a smooth shield decorated with flowers and leaves. The back of the case has a shield emblem with a flying dove carrying an olive branch surrounded with flowers and leaves.
The dial of the pocket watch is white enamel with roman numeral hours and boxes for the minuets around the rim. It has steel blue batons and a seconds register at 6 o'clock. It has a full plate, eleven jeweled lever movement by Illinois Watch Co. Movement No. 260143. Grade 101, estimated production year 1882.
The gold tone watch fob is by Bates & Bacon and includes a monogrammed wax seal.

Metal: 18k yellow gold.
Weight: 86.7 dwt.
Measurements: Case is 54mm not including the stem.
Markings: The dial is marked "Illinois Watch Co", the movement is marked "Illinois Watch Co. Springfield Ill. 260143, Patent Pinion"., The interior of the case is marked "Warranted 18K, 18931".

Condition

The watch winds and ticks but has not been checked for time accuracy. Cosmetically there are dings, scratches and discoloration on the case consistent with age, The crystal has likely been replaced or resealed as there is what appears to be glue around the edges. Overall good condition.
The watch fob has some tarnish and wear to the gold plating consistent with age and is in good condition.
