A good 1886 oil on board of a Victorian lady dressed in a riding habit, depicted in half-length profile holding a crop. At her side, a good-natured Frisian water dog watches in excitement, perhaps anticipating a hunt. In the background is a Gothic Revival staircase and interior.
The bottom right is signed and dated with an "ET" monogram and "1886." Measures 19 1/2" x 15 1/2", and presented in a frame that measures 25 1/4" x 21 1/4".
Small amount of in-painting, including an in-painted scratch to the figure's shoulder. Some overall grime.
