A large blue-painted slide-lid box, possibly used to store personal valuable items. Initials "TWD" painted on lid with the year 1847 also recorded and embellished with red, floral accents. Based on size, larger than a common candle box, but with similar construction, with dovetail joints and sliding lid.
The box is 18 inches long by 14 inches wide and 6 inches tall.
Box is in very good condition. Blue paint has wear in spots. The trim on the left border was replaced at some point.
