A charming 18th c. pastel portrait of a young boy with his dog, with period pencil inscription in the lower left corner: "[Illegible] / No.264 / 1780". Presented behind glass in an old gilt gesso frame with some losses.
The frame sight measures 22 1/2" x 16 1/2", and the frame measures 28" x 22".
Provenance: The Webster House collection.
There is old water damage to the sheet along the boy's shoulder, and down each arm. Small hole to the sheet at the side of the boy's head.
