A stoneware female form of unknown age and origin, possibly a fertility effigy. Unmarked, with several discreet pinholes to the underside for steam to escape during firing. The simplified, exaggerated, and faceless form is reminiscent of Venus figurines of antiquity.
Measures approximately 9" x 4" x 5".
There is a fine network of cracking along the legs, belly, and breasts. Scuffs to the belly.
