A handled water jug or ewer with rooster head spout and slender neck, a design from the Song dynasty (960-1279). Jian style, dark glaze over earthenware, with linear incised decoration around the body. Measures 15" x 9 1/2".
Very good condition. No chips, a few minor nicks, and some craquelure and clouding to the glaze.
