A rare 19th century silver rosewater sprinkler cruet set, late Mughal. Four pieces, including a handled tray with repousse architectural motifs and openwork floral border, two lion-form cruets, and a footed box with bird finial. The lions in combination with the sunburst motifs at each corner of the tray echo the design of the Mughal imperial standard. The tray and both lion sprinklers are each signed in a stippled Gujarati script.
Measures 9 1/2" x 14 1/2" x 10 1/2". The total weight is 52.55 ozt. (silver purity unknown).
The tray is mildly warped, and there is some bending to the bases of the sprinklers and footed box. Minor wear and tarnish.
