Salvador Dali's limited edition book with eight original signed prints. There are ten total pencil signatures by the artist, one to the collaged pochoir frontispiece, one to the color drypoint engraving, seven to the woodcut illustrations throughout the text, and a last signature on the individually numbered edition page.
Numbered 215 in an edition of 395, one of 195 from said edition executed on Arches paper. The text is in French. Gold-stamped and embossed oxblood leather cover with silk-covered slipcase that measures 15 1/2" x 11 3/4" x 1 1/4".
Babaouo was an incomplete Dali script originally conceived as the third in a spiritual trilogy of film collaborations with Luis Buñuel, following the acclaimed surrealist works Un Chien Andalou (1929) and L'Age d'Or (1930). This book is a document of that concept.
The book is in exceptional condition, without any trace of foxing to the pages. There are minor scuffs to the leather cover. The slipcase
