Raphael Soyer (American, 1899-1987) Untitled (Woman) Oil on canvas 12” x 16” A poetical scene of a nude woman sitting on a bed in morning light, signed by the artist to the bottom right. Presented in a silver and black frame that measures 16 1/2" x 20 3/4". Very good, table condition. A tag to the reverse details the 1996 conservation work of Lucas Conservation Laboratory in Vancouver, Washington, including a re-lined canvas, removal of varnish and application of a new resin film, and a very small amount of in-painting (scarce amount in the face's shadows and some in the background near the face).
