Signed to the bottom right corner, signed and titled to the reverse, along with an exhibition entry tag for the Exhibition of S.W. American Art, Oklahoma Art Center (Oklahoma City), 1965. Whether the piece was accepted into that show is unknown, but it was shown in a 1964 Nelson-Atkins exhibition (listed below). The frame measures 70" x 71" x 1 1/2".

Nick Vaccaro was a professor and chairman of the drawing and painting department at the University of Kansas. As an artist, Vaccaro was the recipient of purchase awards from the San Francisco Museum of Art (1958), the Dallas Museum of Fine Art (1961), and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, and his work has additionally been exhibited in the Nelson Gallery of Art, Oklahoma Arts Center, Wichita Art Museum, and Dallas Museum for Contemporary Arts.

Condition

There is a paint flake at the right edge. Dry cracking across areas of the paint layer, including some resulting flaking at the bottom right corner. Mildew to the reverse of the canvas as photographed.
