An Abstract Expressionist composition in the manner of Willem de Kooning. Notes to the reverse indicate the painting was selected for a "Houston Art Museum Award" and was shown at the Dallas Art Museum in 1961. Signed to the bottom right, and signed, dated, and titled to the reverse. Presented in the original thin wooden slat frame.
Nick Vaccaro was a professor and chairman of the drawing and painting department at the University of Kansas. As an artist, Vaccaro was the recipient of purchase awards from the San Francisco Museum of Art (1958), the Dallas Museum of Fine Art (1961), and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, and his work has additionally been exhibited in the Nelson Gallery of Art, Oklahoma Arts Center, Wichita Art Museum, and Dallas Museum for Contemporary Arts.

Mildew visible to the reverse of the canvas. The paint layer appears to be in very good condition, with no touch-ups or other issues visible under blacklight.
