A late 19th c. marble sign, with incised and gilt lettering: "MRS. EBERVILLE / Midwife." The signed belonged to Catherine Eberville of Leadville, Colorado, who moved to the notorious mining town with husband John Eberville (a miner), and practiced midwifery there in the 1880s.
The marble sign measures 8" x 21 1/2". Presently mounted on a pine board that measures 11" x 24".
Condition
Very good condition, noting a couple of minor scuffs along the edges and mild surface wears.
