An oversize ceramic pot, thrown base with hand-built walls atop a wooden support plinth, embellished with applied glazed ceramic shapes and African trade beads. An unsigned early work by Lee Lyon, of Spiro Lyon glass studio, created before he studied glass blowing at Dale Chihuly's Pilchuck Glass School in Washington state.
Provenance: A private Mission Hills collection, acquired directly from the artist.
Condition
One of the applied ceramic shapes on the underside of the pot has broken off and been lost.
