A matching set of eight Philadelphia Chippendale-period chairs, hand-carved mahogany with shell motif crest and claw-and-ball feet, circa late 18th century. Each seat is fitted with a floral silk pad. Each measures approximately 41 1/2" x 23" x 23", with some variation due to the handmade nature of the craftsmanship.
The set has been restored, with some evidence of well-done repairs. One crest scroll has a small chip to the wood.
