A three piece work station, comprised of two pine easels and a painting stand, from the home studio of painter Wilbur Niewald. The easels measure 88" x 24" x 28" and 84" x 24" x 24", and the stand measures 35" x 16" x 12". The stand is filled with brushes and tools as found.

Wilbur Niewald, celebrated painter and beloved member of Kansas City arts community, passed away in 2022. As a painter, Niewald tirelessly created honest and engaging plein air landscapes, still life, and portraiture; he was the recipient of the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in 2006, and the Charlotte Street Fund Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. As a professor and longtime chair of the Painting department at the Kansas City Art Institute, he helped guide generations of young artists.
