A very good garniture vase, red-patinated copper body with finely cast gilt bronze mounts and a fitted copper liner. The gilt bronze decoration includes a Poseidon-and-trident motif on each side, bestiary handles, and swirling dolphins leading to a tripod foot. Unmarked but for an illegible production number underneath. Likely French, circa late 19th c.
Measures 19 1/4" x 12 3/4" x 6 1/2".
Condition
Wear to the gilt patina, particularly across the foot.
