An excellent antique lamp shade with three graduated rows of abalone shells inset into a reticulated metal framework, finished with an embroidered silk bottom edge holding a beaded fringe. Circa 1900. Atop a period cast metal buffet oil lamp with extensive figural designs in low relief. The lamp has been electrified.
Measures 42" x 17" (the shade alone measures approx. 17" x 17" including fringe).
The shade is in very good condition. No cracks observed on the shells. The lamp base has some flaking paint. The lamp hardware is tested and working.
