Daniel MacMorris (Missouri, 1893-1981) Mrs. Lester Siegel, 1957 Oil on canvas 24 1/4" x 22" An elegant oil of Frieda Levy Siegel in pearls and fine dress, a commission executed by noted Kansas City artist Daniel MacMorris. Mrs. Siegel was wife to Lester Siegel, manager of the Harzfeld's department store in Kansas City. Signed and dated to the top right, with the sitter identified to the reverse. Provenance: By descent from the sitter.
Very good condition, with no issues noted under blacklight inspection. Presented without frame, with only a mild abrasion at the bottom edge from rubbing against a previous frame.
