A celadon jade carving of two monkeys, mother and child, huddled together with a peach. Unmarked. Chinese, circa early 20th century. The motif of the monkey with peach recalls the story of Sun Wukong the Monkey King, who is named Protector of the Peaches of Immortality in the 16th century novel Journey to the West.
