Lishman was a multi-disciplinary designer and sculptor best known for his ultralight aviation designs and flights, which served as the basis for the Academy Award winning film
Fly Away Home (1996). His best regarded and most recognizable furniture design is this, the Lishman Rocker, considered one of Canada's most unique modern chairs despite there only being about 400 examples ever produced.
