An unusual figural monkey hall gong of naturalistically carved mango wood with knobbly appearance, holding a hanging brass gong. The bamboo gong mallet is removable for use. Glass eyes, detachable swiveling head. English, late 19th century, attributed to Henry Howell & Co. Ltd.
Measures 30" x 24" x 29".

Sloppy vintage repairs to the left leg and the tail. Tarnish to the brass gong.
