A set of three color woodblock prints by Gustave Baumann (New Mexico/ California, 1881-1971), illustrations for James Whitcomb Riley's
All Year Round (1912). Each illustration (March, August, and November) is signed in the plate and matted alongside the corresponding text from the book. Each mat measures 18 1/4" x 26 1/2" x 1/2".
Condition
The sheets are not laid down, each being hinged to the mat at its top edge. The text sheets each show the faint ghost image of the illustration across from them. Some staining in the margins, likely remnants of book binding.
